Jennifer Holliday is a military spouse, originally from New Jersey, who moved to Huntsville with her husband and family in 2016 when he was stationed at Redstone Arsenal. They fell in love with the Rocket City and are proud to call it their forever home. As the Alabama Military Family Liaison, Jennifer continues to be actively involved with the local community, the Arsenal, and statewide military-connected activities and resources.

Q: Where do you live?

We live in Owens Cross Roads.

Q: Where are you from and how did you get to the Redstone region?

I’m originally from New Jersey, and got to Redstone Arsenal via my husband’s Army career.

Q: If you raised/are raising kids, please share about their education experience:

We have three children. When we arrived in 2016, one was halfway through high school, one was a freshman, and one was starting junior high. They all attended Huntsville High, and the youngest started at Huntsville Junior High. The two that got involved, of course, had better experiences, but even the most introverted one managed to find her people pretty quickly.

Of the three, the best experience was our youngest after he joined the Huntsville High Cross Country Team, between 8th and 9th grade.

Q: Name your favorite three things about living in the Redstone Region.

It’s hard to pick three, but I’d say the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Farmers Markets & Lowe Mill and musical events and Broadway productions. One thing to know is that the Redstone Region is the MOST military welcoming (and generally welcoming) place we have ever lived.
